Teacher of the Year, Mr. Kyle Bohle!
Congratulations to Mr. Bohle on being selected as the West End Middle School Teacher of the Year for 2023-2024!
Mr. Bohle has 13 years of experience and leads our 7th grade math program. His students have regularly exhibited exceptional growth in the classroom due his commitment to excellence.
When asked how he ensures that learning goes beyond the classroom, Mr. Bohle responded,
"We start each year by writing about our interests and goals. I push the idea that education is a tool to help you achieve what you really want in life...The goal is for education to pave the way for self-actualization, which is a work in progress and I’m honored to do my part in developing students and watching them thrive."

No Early Dismissal after 3:30pm
The end of the day can be hectic for the main office. As such, we have always had a policy that there was not to be early dismissal at the very end of the day. If it's after 3:30pm, please wait for your student to be released at regular time of 3:55pm.
The only exceptions would be for extreme emergencies or when a whole group of students is released for an event involving travel. Thank you for helping us reinstitute this policy.

Belmont University’s 7th Annual Middle School (6th – 8th grade) Poetry Contest
We are happy to announce that Belmont University’s 7th Annual Middle School (6th – 8th grade) Poetry Contests are underway and will run through Friday, December 1, 2023.
Once the poems have been received, they will be catalogued and have all identifying information removed so all the judges will see will be the poem and its title. The Belmont English Club and their faculty advisor serve as judges and will pick the top five poems for each contest from all those submitted. Those poets, five 6th – 8th graders, will be invited to Belmont’s campus in February to work with professional songwriters to set their poems to music and then the songs and poems will be posted online for folks to hear and see and then vote for their favorite song.
For a look at last year’s contest winners, check out https://www.belmont.edu/sl/events/family_literacy_day/poetry-contests.html. The five finalists in each contest and their teachers will receive cash prizes with each prize split evenly between the poet and their teacher. First place winners will share $500, Second place winners will share $300, Third place winners will share $200 and Fourth and Fifth place winners will each share $100.
Winners of the 6th – 8th grade contest will be announced at a reception on the Belmont campus on either April 15th or 16th, 2024.
Teachers have access to additional Contest Entry Forms and one is attached below.
Best of luck to all our Blue Jays!
